So I was looking for an armrest for my massage table, and found a shelf like model that I tried first, and in my humble opinion this design vs the more commom shelf design is far better because it is more securely attached to face cradle, and has give, so it acts like a sling or hammock for the arms. The shelf model tilts to one side unless patients rest both arms, and the velcro attachment on the shelf has come undone twice with clients, which is a liability for a therapist as a patient could injure their arm or aggravate an existing irritation. That issue is why I then tried this sling design instead, and it met all my needs, and my patients love it, it attaches securely, the material is soft and supple, and easy to clean, not to mention it is lighter, smaller and has less of a profile than it's counterpart, so transport and storage are easier too
